FAQs

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is one of the safest martial arts. There is no striking, punching, or kicking, so it is a great way for kids to learn how to fight in a safe and controlled way. At Ancaster BJJ, we have coaches assisting the students and managing the space to ensure every individual feels safe and comfortable to learn at their own pace. The floors are soft and the walls are padded for extra protection.

Yes! We have a small but comfortable space for parents to stand/sit and watch their child’s class. Many of our parents stay for the entirety of the class though it is not required.
-
The great thing about BJJ is its accessibility for athletes of all ages. In our accommodating classes, all age groups can find learning and fun through the techniques and drills we explore in class.
-
All of our classes are co-ed with exception to one women's class that takes place Saturday mornings. At Ancaster BJJ we value the equality and comfort of all our students regardless of gender, but recognize the importance of having the option of a safe space for women to explore the sport in a smaller circle before reintegrating with the co-ed classes.
